Dr. Nasser Mandour, President of Suez Canal University, began the University Council – today, Saturday, June 29 – by congratulating His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the June 30 Revolution, appreciating his pioneering efforts in leading Egypt towards a bright future and sustainable prosperity, wishing Egypt and its people further progress and prosperity under his wise leadership.
Dr. Nasser Mandour continued to congratulate the members of the Council on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, praying to God Almighty to return it to us and to the Islamic nation with goodness, blessings and prosperity.
The University Council – headed by Dr. Nasser Mandour, President of Suez Canal University, and with the participation of the Vice Presidents of the University, Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Naeem, Vice President of the University for Education and Students Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Saad Zaghloul, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Adel Hassan, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs of the New Ismailia Private University, and Accountant Sherif Farouk, Secretary-General of the University, and in the presence of the Deans of the Faculties and Institutes of Suez Canal UniversitySuez.
… To expedite the preparation of papers and application for military service, all results will be available electronically via the Ibn Al-Haytham program for all students, noting that the second semester exams for the academic year 2023-2024 have ended in all faculties, except for the Faculties of Dentistry and Pharmacy.
The university president also listened to a detailed report on the results that were completed and approved, as the results of the first, second, third and fourth years of the Egyptian-Chinese College of Applied Technology were approved and the names of the top ten students in the college were announced.
The results of the new programs in the Faculty of Commerce were also approved (FMI program, first, second and third levels – CH program, first and second levels – BIS program, second and third levels).
The university president indicated that the results of the first batch of graduates of the distinguished programs in the Faculty of Commerce were approved and announced, and the general success rate for each program was as follows: Business Information Systems Program 86.13%, Financial Markets and Institutions Program 89.3%, and the English Language Department Program76.4% in the credit hour system, while the third level result was announced at the Faculty of Physical Education.
The university president praised the outstanding performance of the deans and vice deans of the faculties in managing the examination process, and continued to thank all employees of the Central Administration for Student Education Affairs.
The university president confirmed that the interactive map approved by the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities is an initiative aimed at developing and modernizing the educational and research system in Egyptian universities. This initiative includes several aspects, including: improving the educational infrastructure, including classrooms, laboratories, sports facilities, and information technology, in addition to developing curricula by reviewing and updating curricula to be consistent with the latest developments in various fields, and enhancing scientific research by supporting scientific research and encouraging innovative and applied research in various specializations.
In addition to improving the quality of education and evaluation by developing evaluation methods and ensuring the quality of education through the use of international best practices, in addition to enhancing interaction with the community, enhancing the role of universities in serving the community and contributing to solving social and economic problems.
Mandour pointed out that: The interactive map aims to enhance the position of Egyptian universities at the international level and raise the level of their education and scientific research; to be up to the challenges of the modern era and the requirements of the changing labor market.
He called for the need to expedite the completion of all the procedures required to complete the interactive map of Suez Canal University.
Dr. Nasser Mandour congratulated the Faculty of Science, represented by Dr. Maha Farid Suleiman, Dean of the Faculty, for the mathematics and computer science programs obtaining programmatic accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education.
The President of the University also followed up on the status of the colleges applying for accreditation. Calling on the colleges to take all necessary measures to meet all standards, Dr. Hamdi Atallah, Director of the University’s Quality Assurance Center, presented each college’s position on accreditation.
Dr. Nasser Mandour informed the council of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research towards providing a distinguished educational service to incoming students; In implementation of the directives of the political leadership to encourage the reception of incoming students wishing to study at Egyptian universities, within the state’s strategy and Egypt’s Vision 2030, noting that the Central Administration for Incoming Students Affairs announced the opening of applications for Egyptian universities, starting today, Saturday, June 29, through the “Study in Egypt” platform for incoming students, in addition to providing a wide range of services to incoming students during their educational journey, starting from registration through all stages of their studies in Egypt until graduation.
Mandour demanded The necessity of creating a suitable educational environment for incoming students, helping them learn, innovate and gain experience through practical training and integration into the labor market, pointing out that many scholarships are provided to incoming students, as well as granting top graduates – who are not recipients of scholarships – discounts on tuition fees, whether at the undergraduate or postgraduate levels, according to what was approved by the Supreme Council of Universities in its last session.
Regarding the New Ismailia Private University – a detailed report was presented on the achievements of the New Ismailia Private University, presented by Dr. Adel Hassan, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs at the New Ismailia Private University, in which he presented the infrastructure achievements that include ten buildings in addition to the number of programs that reached 13 programs for 8 colleges, indicating that next year will witness the opening of new study programs, including dental implants and the English language, noting that work is underway to create a number of new programs that meet the needs of the labor market.
As for the topics related to the community service and environmental development sector – the university president announcedOrganizing a diverse training plan to train community members during the summer period “July and August” – implemented by the Community Members Training Department “to include 22 summer programs in various fields to raise the basic and life skills of citizens, with the aim of creating administrative leaders equipped with different knowledge and skills, and include a group of topics revolving around "consolidating the idea of freelance work and small projects, self-esteem and self-confidence, the role of wild animals in environmental balance, entrepreneurship, creative leadership, infographics, website and logo design, portraiture and expressive drawing, photography and montage, in addition to the first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation program, in addition to implementing a group of specialized programs in computer science and languages to raise the linguistic and technological skills of trainees.
The Council approved the implementation of the summer plan for environmental sanitation convoys in cooperation with the Decent Life Foundation, in order to complete the plan for environmental sanitation convoys for the year 2024. A detailed report was also presented on what was done by the convoys during the months of May and June – which headed to the Sahara area in the village of Nafisha, and the martyr Khairi in Qantara West and the center and city of Qantara East in the village of Jalbana.
The Council continued preparing the plan for the first semester of the yearUniversity 2024-2025 for training programs in all faculties and nominating faculty members to conduct training in them.
With the organization of a group of cultural and scientific seminars on: Leadership and Management, Egypt, Science and Language, French Language, Religious and Educational Issues, Information Systems, the Role of the Family in Stability, the Egyptian Family and Customs for the Outside Community
In addition to providing a number of training courses in English, French and German during the summer season of 2023-2024 at reduced prices for the people of Ismailia Governorate.
During the council, the results of the examination and evaluation conducted by the Supreme Committee for Awards in the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector were announced to determine the winner of the Giving and Loyalty Award, which resulted in the victory of Dr. Ibrahim Ashour, former Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs.
Dr. Nasser Mandour also indicated that the “Times” classification For Sustainable Development 2024, he emphasized the excellence of Suez Canal University in achieving the goals of sustainable development through its commitment to achieving the dimensions of environmental, social and economic sustainability. The Times classification also highlights Highlighting the prominent role of the university in promoting sustainability and the pioneering societal role of the university in the Canal region and Sinai.
While the university president reported that the English (THE) Times Higher Education ranking for the Times Sustainable Development World Ranking 2024 ranked the university internationally for the overall goals in the ranking (401-600), and locally in third place among 46 Egyptian universities included this year compared to fourth place last year, noting that the university was ranked in all seventeen sustainable development goals, as it ranked first in the fifteenth goal (wildlife conservation) at the local level.
The Times ranking also showed the university’s participation in developing solutions to environmental problems in the region and partnership with the relevant authorities.
Dr. Nasser Mandour, the president of the university, announced that the results of the American ranking US News US-News for the global university rankings and academic disciplines rankings for 2024, showed that Suez Canal University advanced 148 places globally, ranking 659th compared to 807th in 2023.
While the university ranked 23rd in Africa out of 69 African universities and 12th out of 29 Egyptian universities included this year, noting that this year’s ranking included 2,250 universities, up from last year’s ranking which included 2,000, distributed across 104 countries.
Suez Canal University also ranked 79th globally in international cooperation and third in Egypt, reflecting the efforts of the university’s researchers. The university takes the necessary steps to raise the research and academic level with the aim of achieving a high level of excellence and regional and international leadership for its researchers.
Appreciating the state’s efforts in providing free publishing through the Knowledge Bank and allowing Egyptian researchers to browse many international publishing houses, which led to improving the global ranking of Egyptian universities in international classifications.
In the QS 2025 World Ranking, Suez Canal University maintains its progress and is ranked (1201-1400) globally for the year 2025 in the QS (QS) World Ranking for the fourth year in a row. The university president pointed out that the QS QS ranking is one of the strongest global rankings in terms of the comprehensiveness of its criteria in evaluating universities in various fields, noting that the QS World University Ranking this year is the largest compared to previous years, as this year’s ranking included 1503 universities from 106 countries, an increase of 21 new universities classified over last year. The indicators of the British QS University Evaluation 2025 showed that Suez Canal University occupied Suez University ranked eighth among 15 Egyptian universities included this year and is ranked (1201-1400) globally for the year 2025 for the fourth year in a row. Suez Canal University also ranked 651-700 in the field of medicine this year in the QS Academic Subjects Ranking 2025.
